Elderly depression is becoming increasingly common, and is associated with both increased medical and psychosocial morbidity and mortality. The challenges in managing Geriatric patients include their unique differences in terms of physiology, medical comorbidities, varied presentation of symptoms and psychosocial changes.

In this talk, Dr. Emily Ho will discuss the unique presenting symptoms in elderly depression, including somatic symptoms. She will give updates on the latest treatment modalities and suggested approaches to improving patients’ quality of life through early detection and treatment.
