Experience

Julyn has over a decade of clinical experience in her profession as a psychologist. She provides psychological therapy and counselling for individuals and families, so as to improve their effectiveness as a person within their environments – school, work, family and relationships. Julyn strongly believes in partnering her patients in improving their overall quality of life. She also feels very firmly in providing the support for her patients during their difficult times.

In terms of work experience, Julyn has worked with adolescents and adults who present with a wide range of conditions such as depression, anxiety, self-harm behaviours, emotional management issues, parenting stress and relationship difficulties. In addition, Julyn has vast knowledge and experience working with individuals with special needs such as intellectual disability and autism spectrum disorder. She held the position of Lead Psychologist in her previous workplace. Julyn is trained and familiar with various treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, and Choice Theory and Reality Therapy.

Julyn also holds a part-time lecturer position in the National Institute of Education (NIE). She supervises trainee psychologist during their clinical practicum. Julyn enjoys teaching and sharing her expertise with aspiring psychologists as her way of building the capabilities of the mental health community in Singapore.
